What Carrd is

Carrd builds one-page websites. Common uses are personal profiles and email-capture landing pages.

A newsletter owner can use it for a sign-up page. Signup forms on paid plans work with services such as Mailchimp, Kit, ActiveCampaign and EmailOctopus.

The free plan allows up to three sites per account.

Who it is for

Carrd builds one-page sites for pretty much anything, including personal profiles, email-capture landing pages and more elaborate single-page sites.

A newsletter operator who needs a signup page and not a full website can use it. Someone who wants a multi-page site with a blog or archive needs a different tool. The free plan allows up to three sites per account, so a small newsletter can start without paying.

What you can do with it

You start from dozens of templates or a blank page. Sites are responsive, so they fit phones, tablets and desktops.

Pro adds custom domains with SSL, contact, signup, custom and payment forms, widgets and embeds, analytics, and removal of the Made with Carrd footer. Pro Plus adds advanced forms, password protection, redirects, canonical URLs and site downloads. Pro Lite also adds QR codes, sharing, larger images and videos, and no limit on elements.

Plans and pricing

The free plan allows up to three sites. Pro is billed per year. Pro Lite is from $9 a year, Pro Standard from $19 a year, and Pro Plus from $49 a year. Higher tiers raise the number of sites, up to 1000.

Pro Lite removes branding and allows premium templates. Pro Standard adds custom domains, forms and embeds. Pro is also advertised from $19 a year, so confirm the current price. There is a free 7-day Pro trial with no card.

What it works with

Signup forms connect to email services such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Kit, HubSpot and SendGrid, among about 20 others. Widgets and embeds work with services such as Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad and Typeform.

Analytics supports Google Analytics, Plausible and Matomo. Payments are taken by PayPal or major credit and debit cards for Carrd itself. Embeds can place other tools on the page.

Things to know before you choose

Forms, custom domains and widgets need Pro Standard or higher. Pro Lite does not include them. Sites on the free plan carry the Made with Carrd footer, which Pro removes.

Pro renews yearly, or you can pay as you go. Images can be up to 16 MB and videos up to 64 MB on Pro plans. The company is Carrd Inc.
