The short answer
Each of these three tools does one job for a local newsletter, and each is sold on its own. You do not need all three to start, and plenty of newsletters will only ever need one.
lightbreak, greetform and larkfeed are owned by 8th Replay, the company behind this site.
Three jobs
lightbreak takes the weekly work of finding and writing local content. greetform takes the moment after someone subscribes. larkfeed takes the website.
| lightbreak | greetform | larkfeed | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it does | Collects local news, events, jobs, homes, pets and new businesses, writes stories in your voice, and builds an issue. | Post-signup surveys with conditional logic, inline offer cards, an offer wall, lead pages, lead routing and a media kit system for sponsors. | Hosts a business directory, events calendar, job board and news site, with AI article drafting and owner interviews. |
| How it charges | Based on how many newsletters you run. Quotes come from a 30-minute call. | A flat monthly fee by plan, with a limit on new subscribers a month. Enterprise is custom. | Pricing depends on your market and needs. You book a call for a plan. |
| Works with | beehiiv and ActiveCampaign for sending. Google and iCal calendars, Google Drive, YouTube channels and RSS feeds as sources. An API and an MCP server are available. | beehiiv, ActiveCampaign and Mailchimp. Webhooks, an API and MCP on Growth and above. | lightbreak, greetform and beehiiv archive import. An API and MCP server let AI tools read content and file drafts. |
What each one does alone
With lightbreak alone, the issue takes less time to make. Most issues ship in under 15 minutes.
With greetform alone, you learn who your new subscribers are and can show them offers on day one. It has a free plan for up to 250 new subscribers a month.
With larkfeed alone, your newsletter has a website with a business directory, events and jobs that local businesses can pay to stand out on.
What changes when they run together
This is how they connect. lightbreak pushes a finished issue to an email platform such as beehiiv or ActiveCampaign. greetform syncs subscriber answers to beehiiv, ActiveCampaign and Mailchimp. larkfeed works with lightbreak and greetform and can import a beehiiv archive.
Put together, the same local content does more than one job. An event gathered for the issue also belongs on the website's calendar. A new subscriber's answers tell you which local offers to show them. A business listed on the site is also a sponsor to talk to.
The order we would add them
Start with a sending platform and a first issue. Add greetform when signups start, because its free plan costs nothing and what you learn early is hard to get later.
Add lightbreak when writing the issue is the thing eating your week. Add larkfeed when local businesses start asking where they can be listed.
Does lightbreak replace my email platform?
No. You do not need to switch platforms, and subscribers stay where they are.
Is greetform free?
Yes. The Free plan needs no card and covers 250 new subscribers a month, one publication and one live survey.
Does AI publish articles on its own?
No. A person reviews and approves every article.
