About newsletter tools HQ

Who runs this site, what we cover, and how we work.

Last reviewed:

newsletter tools HQ is a directory of software and services for people who run email newsletters. It covers sending platforms, AI writing tools, growth and advertising tools, signup forms, ways to earn, and the websites and data tools around a newsletter.

How it works

Every tool has a page of plain facts: what it does, whether it has a free plan, where paid plans start, how it charges and what it works with. We read those facts from the company's own pages, and each page shows the date we last checked.

When we cannot confirm something on the company's own site, we leave it out. A missing row means we did not find it, not that the answer is no.

Guides and comparisons are built from the same checked facts, so a price in a comparison matches the price on the tool's page.

Who runs it

newsletter tools HQ is run by 8th Replay, a company that publishes local newsletters and builds software for the people who run them.

Tools we own

We own some of what is listed here, and we say so on each of those pages.

  • lightbreak, greetform and larkfeed are 8th Replay software.
  • Realtor Newsletters and RetentionLetter are newsletter services founded by TJ Larkin, who also runs this site.

They get the same facts-only treatment as every other listing: facts from their own public sites and no ratings. We do show them first on their shelves and in cards marked "Our tool", which is how this site pays for itself.

How we make money

Some links to other companies are referral links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a fee, and the link says so next to the button. A referral fee never changes a fact, and tools with no referral program are listed the same way.

Sponsored placements are always labelled.

Companies

If you work at a company listed here, you can claim your page for free and answer the questions newsletter operators ask. A person reviews every change before it goes live.

Run a local newsletter? This is our stack.

lightbreak builds each issue, greetform learns who just subscribed, and larkfeed runs the website. We own all three and say so on their pages.
