Editorial standards
How we report, source, and verify the news we publish.
Last reviewed:
These are the rules every page on newsletter tools HQ follows.
Facts come from the source
A fact about a tool comes from that company's own pages: its pricing page, its feature pages, its help center or its partner page. We do not take facts from other review sites.
If we cannot confirm a fact on the company's own site, we leave it out.
Every page is dated
Each tool page shows the date we last checked it. Prices and plans change, so a page whose prices have not been re-checked in 45 days stops showing them and points you to the company's site.
No ratings and no invented experience
We do not give star ratings or scores. We do not claim to have used a tool unless we say exactly who used it and for what.
How we use AI
AI helps us gather facts from company pages and draft text, and we spot-check its work against the source. AI output is never the source of a fact; the company's own page is. If you find a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.
Money never changes a fact
Referral links are labelled next to the button. Sponsored placements are labelled. Neither changes what a page says, and neither changes which tools appear in a guide.
Tools we own
8th Replay owns lightbreak, greetform and larkfeed, and TJ Larkin founded Realtor Newsletters and RetentionLetter. Each of those pages says so, and each is written only from the product's own public site.
Run a local newsletter? This is our stack.
lightbreak builds each issue, greetform learns who just subscribed, and larkfeed runs the website. We own all three and say so on their pages.
