What Plausible Analytics is

Plausible Analytics is a privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics. It uses no cookies, needs no cookie banner and does not track individual users.

A newsletter operator can use it to see how many readers reach the newsletter's website, track campaigns with UTM tags, set goals and share a dashboard publicly or with chosen people.

Plausible has a 30-day free trial. Paid plans are priced by monthly pageviews.

Who it is for

Plausible serves ecommerce, SaaS, agencies, creators and publishers, public sector, white-label analytics and enterprise.

It measures a website, not the inside of an email. A newsletter operator with a website, archive or signup page could use it to see how many readers arrive and which campaigns bring them. An operator who wants only open and click stats from a sending tool would not need it.

What you can do with it

Plausible offers UTM campaign tracking with automatic channel grouping, a real-time dashboard that updates every 30 seconds, funnels and user journeys. It also offers scroll depth tracking and codeless goals for file downloads, form completions and external link clicks, plus custom events and revenue tracking.

Other features are a Search Console connection, AI tool traffic monitoring, and built-in filtering of bots, referrer spam and data center traffic.

Business plans add saved and shared segments, annotations, shared links and embedded dashboards.

Plans and pricing

Plausible offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. Paid plans are priced by monthly pageviews, and yearly billing gives 2 months free.

Starter is $9 a month for 1 site. Growth is $14 a month for up to 3 sites and 3 team members. Business is $19 a month for up to 10 sites and 10 team members, and adds ecommerce revenue attribution and a consolidated view across sites.

Enterprise is custom priced and adds single sign-on, a managed proxy and scheduled raw data exports. Prices are for monthly billing.

What it works with

Plausible works with Google Analytics data import, Search Console, a Looker Studio connector, a Google Tag Manager template, a WordPress plugin and an NPM package. It also sends email and Slack reports.

Integration guides cover Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Next.js, Ghost and Hugo. Docs also cover importing historical data from Google Analytics and importing stats from CSV files.

A Stats API is available on Business and above, and a Sites API on Enterprise.

Things to know before you choose

Plausible uses no cookies and no persistent identifiers, and no cookie banner is required.

Data retention is 3 years on Starter and 5 years on Business. The Stats API limit is 600 requests per hour on Business. The pageview slider runs from 10k to 10M+ monthly pageviews, and Starter covers up to 10k.

Priority support is for Enterprise.
