What Airtable is
Airtable is one relational source of truth for apps, agents and workflows. It lets teams connect data from apps and tools in relational databases, build custom interfaces from the data, and set up automations.
A newsletter operator can use it to keep lists such as sponsors, story pitches or guests in one shared table. Airtable also has AI tools that can run across records.
There is a Free plan. Paid plans are charged per seat.
Who it is for
Airtable is for teams across product, marketing, operations, sales, design, HR and finance. It also serves media and entertainment, retail, education and agency work.
A newsletter operator can use it to keep sponsors, story pitches, guests or writers in one shared table. It fits a team that tracks many linked lists. A writer with one short list may find a simple sheet enough. Airtable stores and organizes data. It does not send newsletters.
What you can do with it
Airtable has relational databases that connect data from apps and tools. On top of that data it offers automations, custom interfaces and reporting. Portals let guests outside your organization collaborate, and an app library lets teams share apps with the core structure locked.
Its AI tools are Airtable AI, Omni for building in plain language, and Field Agents that run AI across records. HyperDB works at up to 100M-record scale. There is API documentation and there are mobile apps for iOS and Android.
Plans and pricing
Airtable has four plans: Free, Team, Business and Enterprise Scale. Free is aimed at individuals, very small teams or lightweight needs. Team is $20 per user per month when billed annually. Business is $45 per user per month when billed annually. Enterprise Scale is custom and adds unlimited org units, workspaces and bases.
On Team and Business, you pay for each user with edit permission on at least one base in the workspace. Read-only collaborators, form submissions and share links are not charged. New users are prorated for the month.
What it works with
Airtable connects with Slack, Google Drive, Salesforce, Jira and Zendesk. Its headline offer is bringing Airtable data into Claude. A full integrations directory covers other tools, including content management systems.
There is API documentation, and developers can reach Airtable through a developer community and docs. Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android.
Things to know before you choose
Limits apply to records, attachments, automations and API calls. If you reach a record or attachment limit, you keep access to your data but cannot add more until you upgrade. Automations and API calls stop at the plan limit.
Numbers for those limits are not published, so check the pricing page. Airtable has a help center, community, Airtable Academy, developer docs and a status page.
