What Claude is
Claude is an AI assistant from Anthropic. It can produce first drafts, edit existing text and turn notes into briefs.
A newsletter operator could use it to draft and tighten issues, research a topic with web search, or read documents such as PDFs and spreadsheets. Projects keep instructions and files together by topic, and memory and saved preferences carry across conversations.
Who it is for
Claude has individual and team plans. Free is for everyone, Pro is for everyday work and Max is for people who work with Claude all day. Team is for teams of 2 to 150, and Enterprise adds admin and security controls.
Marketing is among the roles it covers. A solo newsletter writer would start with Free or Pro. A newsletter team that wants shared billing and admin controls would look at Team.

It creates and edits Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Artifacts are shareable documents, slides and visuals you can revise by asking. Projects keep context, instructions and files by topic. Memory carries context across conversations. Pro adds scheduled tasks, more models and Claude in Chrome.
Plans and pricing
Free is $0. Pro is $17 a month billed annually ($200 up front), or $20 billed monthly. Max starts at $100 a month, billed monthly, with a choice of 5 times or 20 times Pro usage.
Team seats are $20 per seat per month billed annually or $25 monthly (Standard), and $100 or $125 (Premium, 5 times Standard usage). Team needs 2 seats. Enterprise is $20 per seat per month billed annually, plus usage at API rates.
What it works with
Connectors include Google Calendar, Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google BigQuery, Amplitude, Salesforce and Gong. A separate Connectors page has the full set.
It also supports custom connectors and MCPs, Claude in Chrome, Claude for Microsoft 365, Claude Tag for Slack (beta for Team and Enterprise) and Claude Code. Businesses can also reach Claude through Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud or Microsoft Foundry.
Things to know before you choose
Usage runs on a rolling five-hour session window, and paid plans also have weekly limits. Free uses Sonnet and Haiku models only, with up to 5 Projects.
Model training is opt-out on Free, Pro and Max, and off by default on Team and Enterprise. Max is billed monthly only. Team accepts credit card only, with no invoicing. Enterprise is billed annually only. Education pricing is not published.
